What language will the sessions be conducted in?

The sessions will be conducted in English language.

Do I really need therapy for my situation?  I've been handling my problems alone just fine all this time.

Well, you don't have to go at it alone. Investing in therapy enhances your holistic health and well-being. Although you've effectively managed life's complexities solo, partnering with a qualified therapist introduces fresh perspectives into addressing challenges. Choosing therapy signifies courage, self-awareness, and an eagerness to evolve, fostering enduring changes in your thinking, emotions, and actions.

The question of medication versus psychotherapy

A widely recognized truth is that medication alone cannot provide a long-term solution to mental and emotional challenges and their accompanying suffering. While medication may alleviate symptoms, therapy addresses the root causes of our distress and the behavior patterns hindering our growth. Sustainable growth and an enhanced sense of well-being are best achieved through an integrative wellness approach. By collaborating with your medical provider, you can ascertain the most suitable treatment plan, sometimes incorporating both medication and therapy for optimal results.

Is whatever I share in therapy confidential?

Yes, therapy sessions are confidential. As a therapist, I am bound by professional ethics and legal standards to maintain confidentiality. However, there are exceptions for extreme circumstances where there is a risk of harm to yourself or others. In such rare situations, only the minimum necessary information will be shared to ensure safety.

How long does each therapy session take?

Each therapy session is 1.5 hours long, with the exception of certain trauma cases which will take 2 hrs/ session.

Can I combine 2 or more sessions into 1 sessions, thus making it longer than 1.5 hrs for that session?

It is not advisable. With the exception of smoking cessation therapy and trauma therapy, all other therapies tend to benefit more when sessions are limited to a maximum of 1.5 to 2 hours each. This duration facilitates effective processing of emotions and memories by the subconscious mind. Cramming too much into a single session can be counterproductive.

How many sessions of therapy do I need to see results?

The duration of therapy can vary widely based on individual personality, needs, and the nature of the issues being addressed. Some people might notice improvements in just a few sessions, while others may require longer-term support.

However, if I were to provide an estimate, for hypnotherapy, it typically takes between 4 to 6 sessions for a straightforward case with a single presenting symptom. For more complex cases involving multiple presenting symptoms concurrently, additional sessions will be necessary to address them all.

How do I prepare for my session ?

First and foremost, find a comfortable space where you can ensure privacy and freedom from distractions during the therapy session. Equally important, remember to put your phone on airplane mode. Finally, remember to relax. You'll find that you get the most out of any therapy when you're in a relaxed and calm state of mind.

Why do I need to have a proper medical diagnosis from a medical doctor before commencing psychotherapy ?

Because I prioritize your safety and well-being above all else.  Many psychological conditions have symptoms similar to organic causes and a misdiagnosis of a critical illness as a psychological issue can result in the patient losing precious treatment time with possible fatal consequences.

Self-diagnosis kills.  So, let’s stay safe.

Do you prescribe medication?

No. I do not prescribe medication. As we work together during the course of the therapy, if the need for medication should arise, I can refer you to qualified psychiatrists.

I’m pregnant.  Is therapy suitable for me?

Absolutely!! In fact, your pregnancy most probably will highly benefit from the calmness and relaxation of the hypnotherapy session.

Can I claim insurance for the therapy treatment?

Kindly check with your insurance provider.
